Learning to work together before it matters most
When a patient enters the healthcare system, they may interact with nurses, physiotherapy technologists, social service workers, diagnostic imaging technologists, laboratory professionals and many others. At Dawson’s Interprofessional Education (IPE) Symposium on Oct. 16, students from seven health and social service programs had the chance to experience what effective collaboration looks like before they enter the workforce.
Stressed about a tough class? You don't have to go alone: try Peer Tutoring! Peer tutors are Dawson students who have done well in their courses and want to help you succeed, too.
Peer tutors are trained to share the real-world strategies, tips, and tricks that they use to keep going when things get tough.
Questions? Need more information? Come see us in the Learning Centre, upstairs in the library (6D.2), or book online with a peer tutor at Omnivox > Peer Tutoring Appointments.
Math & Physics Tutorial Rooms
All Dawson College students are invited to visit the Math (room 7B.1) and Physics (room 7A.1) tutorial rooms every weekday to get help in either subject area. These study rooms are staffed with Faculty and Peer Tutors throughout the day to answer questions and explain concepts.
This is a drop in service: no sign ups or appointments are needed.
For any questions about these services, please contact Reyana Hadef (math) or Anna Marczewska (physics) via MIO.

Help us keep more of Dawson's waste out of landfills
Thanks to the student volunteers who helped with our recent campus waste audit. The results are in!
This year, 28.2% of Dawson's waste was successfully kept out of landfills through recycling and composting. While that's down from 32% last year, the audit also revealed a major opportunity for improvement: more than half of the material found in regular garbage bins could actually have been recycled or composted.
The takeaway? Sorting matters. Taking an extra moment to put your waste in the right bin helps reduce landfill waste and has a real impact on Dawson's environmental footprint.
