Ann-Sophie Bettez, Dawson Grad and former member of Women’s Hockey team, Named Player of the Month in CWHL

The Dawson Women’s Hockey team has produced a lot of talent. One of the best is Ann-Sophie Bettez, who is now a member of Les Canadiennes in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League. Just after playing in her second league All-Star Game, she was also named the Player of Month of January by the Canadian Women’s Hockey League. A big part of her team’s perfect 8-0 record for January, Bettez notched 4 goals and 9 assists for 13 points. This despite playing with different linemates. It also allowed her to jump into second place overall in league scoring, one point behind her teammate and another former Dawson Blues, Marie-Philip Poulin. “She’s a great player. She’s an all-around great player. She’s so strong, she’s so fast, she sees the ice real well and luckily for me I play with her,” said Marie-Philip Poulin. “She makes me look good out there and every time I get to play with her it’s quite the honour and she does it all. I just have to give it to her or put the puck on the net and she’ll put it in.”
