Dawson’s 49th academic year starts on Wednesday, August 23

Dawson College will enter its 49th academic year on Wednesday, August 23 with some 8,000 students, of which about 3,400 are new students. Once again this year, students have responded to Dawson as a college of choice to pursue their post-secondary education on their way to university studies or to careers. With all of the Strategic Plan’s eight objectives focussed on student success throughout their educational journey, the onus is on the College to develop mechanisms and offer its support, especially but not limited to new students, in terms of innovation, high-impact activities, assistance, so that students can seize every opportunity in the achievement of a graduate profile encompassing “broad knowledge, strong intellectual skills and a grounded sense of ethical and civic responsibility to be able to meet the myriad challenges of the 21st century with respect to environmental, global, intercultural, technological and scientific changes.”

The start of classes is preceded on Tuesday, August 22 with the Welcome Back Reception and General Assembly hosted by the Director General Richard Filion, starting at 11:30 a.m. in the 3C.1 cafeteria.

Welcome back and good luck for a peaceful, productive and fulfilling semester and year!
