Cannabis video series aims to reduce harm
Montreal’s Regional Director of Public Health Dr. Mylène Drouin as well as students and staff from four other CEGEPs will be at Dawson this Friday to launch a video series about cannabis use entitled Do you know your bud?
Each two-minute video answers a question from a CEGEP student:
- What is more harmful- smoking or eating cannabis?
- Can using cannabis affect my brain in the long term?
- What do I do during a bad trip?
- Can I use cannabis to self-medicate?
The questions come from surveying students at five CEGEPs: Bois-de-Boulogne, Dawson, Maisonneuve, Rosemont and Vanier. A team of social workers and nurses, including Dawson’s Julie Gosselin, curated the questions and co-created the video series, which was produced thanks to a grant from Montréal’s regional public health department.
The videos will be released once a week on Omnivox and the College’s social media accounts, beginning on Nov. 23 during National Addictions Awareness Week and then on Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and Dec. 14. The videos will also be available through Santé publique’s YouTube channel.
