Golf Classic less than three weeks away

Dawson’s 15th edition of the golf tournament is shaping up to be a great homecoming event after a two-year absence. Being able to gather safely outdoors with friends and colleagues is an added plus while raising funds for the Financial Aid Office at Dawson to help our students in need.

The Dawson Golf Classic will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Summerlea Golf & Country Club. The Dawson community is invited to participate by signing on to the webpages accessible via the Dawson website homepage. You can learn more about the event or register a foursome or you can choose to just come out for the dinner if golf isn’t your thing.

Dawson employees, retirees and alumni can take advantage of special pricing. The Dawson-friendly rate of $800 per foursome includes brunch, driving range, golf, cocktail reception and dinner, plus a load of other goodies. In addition, there are dozens of prizes and silent auction items, including innovative furniture from Transformer Table valued between $7,500 and $10,000.

A big shout-out of thanks goes to the people who have been working hard to make this the best tournament ever: Foundation Board members Sean Smith (Pure and Applied Science, 2001) and Claudia Mastrocola (Community, Recreation and Leadership Training, 2013), Foundation Board Chair Steve Hatajlo (Computer Science Technology, 1981), Jorge Sanchez from Facilities Management, Fred Jansen of the Foundation office, Ken Doran, a longtime friend of the tournament, and of course, our honorary chairs, Peter McAuslan and Ellen Bounsall, former Dawson administrators from long ago, the founders of McAuslan Brewing and now, McAuslan Spirits.

Thanks to the support of the Dawson community, its partners and friends over the past 14 golf tournaments, Dawson has raised more than $500,000 for student aid and scholarships.
