Golf Classic off to a great start

The announcement of the return of the Dawson golf tournament in 2022 after a two-year absence has been met with an enthusiastic response. Several sponsors from past years have signed on once again to support our event that directly benefits Dawson students.

All proceeds will go to Financial Aid to help students who need financial assistance so they can continue their studies with a reduced financial burden as the cost of living increases.

The Dawson Golf Classic will celebrate its 15th edition when golfers take to the green on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Summerlea Golf & Country Club in Vaudreuil-Dorion. Special “friendly” pricing has been set for everyone with a Dawson connection, whether they are employees, retirees, or alumni.

And speaking of connections, we are pleased to announce the two Honorary Chairs of the Classic. Peter McAuslan, Dawson’s former Registrar and Secretary-General and Ellen Bounsall, Dawson’s former Manager of Admissions and Registrar, have accepted to serve in this capacity. They left Dawson in the mid-1980s to found McAuslan’s St-Ambroise brewing company, with Ellen as brewmaster. They sold the business in 2013 to “retire” although a new venture has been started up with Peter McAuslan’s Spirits.

The Golf Classic webpages will be launched next Monday, April 25, provided all systems and testing are a go!
