Golf Classic Updates: Hockey legend Stephane Richer returns as special guest

Exciting news! Hockey legend Stephane Richer will join the lineup for the 2024 Dawson Golf Classic, sponsored by the Montreal Forum. The tournament will be held at the beautiful Whitlock Golf and Country Club in Hudson on Monday, June 10.

Following the tournament, participants can look forward to an evening of networking, cocktails, and gourmet food, hosted by Christine Long of CTV Montreal. Other special guests include Former NBA champion Joel Anthony and three-time Grey Cup winner Danny Desriveaux.

About Stephane Richer

Stephane Richer, drafted 29th overall in the 1984 NHL Draft by the Montreal Canadiens, made history as the team’s youngest player to score 50 goals in a season at just 21 years old. Alongside Guy Lafleur, he’s one of only two Canadiens to achieve this feat twice.

His illustrious career includes winning a gold medal at the U20 World Junior Championship and two Stanley Cups with the Montreal Canadiens and the New Jersey Devils. Throughout his 17-year NHL tenure, Richer played for five teams, including two stints with Montreal, the New Jersey Devils, the Tampa Bay Lightning, the St. Louis Blues, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. He competed in 1,054 career games, tallying 421 goals and 398 assists for a total of 819 points.
