Teacher emotions in the classroom: an ever-present challenge

Mary Hlywa MA, retired faculty, will facilitate an in-person workshop in 3F.38 on teacher emotion on March 16, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Mary’s research is relevant to the professional development and well-being of all teachers. OAD finds it is applicable to promoting resiliency in students, a requirement for accreditation.

Workshop Description:

Being a college teacher is challenging cognitively, socially, and even physically. The role is complex as teachers strive to meet pedagogical, institutional, professional, and personal goals—not the least of which is student success. What is often ignored, or at least misunderstood, is the role of teacher emotions and the labour required in the regulation of those feelings as teachers strive to do their job and meet these goals with integrity.

Registration is required by Friday, March 10. To sign-up, visit https://arlo.dawsoncollege.qc.ca/register?sgid=1d638d521899402eab741decab1d7b7f
