Montreal United Nations Conference at Dawson College this weekend

The Dawson College Model United Nations will be holding its annual conference this weekend at Dawson College. The Montreal United Nations Conference (MUNC) will host more than 200 delegates from a dozen universities, colleges and secondary schools. In addition, more than 50 current students and willing alumni (and some not alumni) will be here to run the conference. They have been working on and planning MUNC since April. There are 6 separate committees, mostly in the 5B wing, with delegates focusing on issues of the United Nations Post 2015 Development goals to the World Trade Organization and emerging markets to the Crisis in South Sudan.

The conference begins with Opening Ceremonies at 18:00 Friday in 3C.1. We will have special guest speakers Madam Manon Gauthier, Conseillère municipale et Membre du comité exécutif, Ville de Montréal and M François LaRochelle, Président of the Montréal Branch of the United Nations Association in Canada. It will continue with first committee sessions Friday evening starting at 19:30 , and then all day Saturday from 9:00 to 21:00, and Sunday from 9:00-15:00.

Everyone in the Dawson Community is welcome to visit and observe MUNC this weekend. It is a showcase of the interest and engagement of Dawson College students (and others of course) in the world. Please come!
