Student working with a patientThe clinical component of the physiotherapy technology program includes 750 hours of authentic learning in various clinical settings which include:

  • Donald Berman Jewish Eldercare Centre
  • Maimonides Geriatric Center
  • St. Mary’s Hospital Centre
  • Jewish General Hospital
  • Catherine Booth Hospital
  • Dawson College Heath Clinic

 

These 750 hours of learning are divided as follows:

  • 300 hours of clinical education. Learning alongside faculty members, students are introduced to patients with various conditions to solidify and apply the knowledge previously gained in the classroom.
  • 450 hours of internship (stage). Although students continue to learn alongside a healthcare provider working in the community, they are expected to take the lead in the management of patients’ files so that they are prepared to enter the workforce in the role of a physiotherapy technologist.
