Declarations Portrait

Declarations

Playwright: Jordan Tannahill
Director: Liz Valdez
Student Groups: Year 2, Group 2

Description

A desire to articulate and capture moments, objects, and experiences pulled through time that chronicle a life lived. Written by Tannahill in response to his mother’s terminal diagnosis, this lyrical and iterative text unfolds with the performers offering the audience a series of declarations, each gesturing toward an archive of images and sense memories. From these accumulated fragments emerges something at once intimate and universal, an inventory of what it means to be alive in a body and in a time. Directed by Liz Valdez and performed by the second-year students of the Professional Theatre Program at Dawson College.
