Her academic background includes studies in the Liberal Arts (Dawson Alumni), Anthropology (McGill), and Art History (Concordia). Gwen has a background in outdoor education, with two years teaching team building and forest ecology in Massachusetts, and museum education, with ten years of experience at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
Areas of Interest:
Her research interests are focused on art therapy and art education; the way people interact with various art forms in their environment and the opportunities that visual art offers as a mode of expression that can heighten awareness and empathy.

She also writes for exhibition catalogues and arts magazines. Amanda has a background in museum education from various institutions in Montreal, including The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Centre international d'art contemporain de Montral. Her international work experience includes working in institutions such as The Museum of Modern Art (New York, USA), the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (Venice, Italy) and La Biennale di Venezia (Venice, Italy).
Areas of Interest:
Amanda is interested in making art accessible and engaging to all publics, and in empowering people in their understanding and appreciation of art in all of its forms through interactive discussions, debates and active viewing. She is particularly interested in the Modern and Contemporary periods, and the relationships that artists have with the environment.

| | Member in the department(s): | David graduated from the Ontario College of Art in Toronto with a Diploma in Industrial Design in 1991. He apprenticed in Olivetti's Centro Stile in Milan, Italy from 1991 to 1992.
Upon returning to Canada, he moved to Montreal where he worked at a design consulting firm from 1994 to 1996. At that point he began his own business in industrial design. He first taught in the Industrial Design department in 1998, after which he returned to Dawson in 2002 and managed the department's workshops for five years. He has been a full-time member of the Industrial Design department's faculty from 2008 to the present.

| | Member in the department(s): | | Chris Whittaker went to Heritage College (Cegep) in Hull Quebec and then studied Engineering Physics at Queen’s University (B.Sc. 1989, M.Sc. 1992). As an undergraduate he specialized in aeronautical and nuclear engineering and for his masters degree he studied how the apparent viscosity of nematic liquid crystals changes in electric and magnetic fields. Chris also holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto (1996) and he has prepared two radio documentaries for the CBC program Ideas – including one about physics called “Size Matters” which originally aired in October 2002. |
