Student Success Video Contest
Create a short video of Dawson students talking about their college experience and you could win $500!
Dawson is looking for footage of students describing what student success means to them, what the college is doing to help them succeed, and what the college could do better to ensure their success. See guidelines below for details.
- Produce 7 minutes of raw footage (deadline: December 9)
- If your footage is selected, you will be asked to edit yours and other student footage into a 3 minute compilation video (deadline: January 9)
- Interview a variety of students from different programs
- Students interviewed must identify themselves and their program
- Interviews must take place in recognizable Dawson locations, like Atrium, locker areas, classrooms, labs, hallways
- Interviews questions should be similar to:
- Describe what student success means to you.
- What could the College do better to help you succeed?
- Answers can be funny and serious, but not only one or the other
- Interviews can be conducted until the last day of classes (no interviewing during exam period)
- The video will be shown at Welcome Back General Assembly in January
- The video will be featured on the Dawson website home page
Top prize is $500, 3 runners up prizes of $100 each.
Make sure to have participating students sign this release form in order for you to be authorized to use their footage.
