We want you! Seeking 150 volunteers for student outreach

We need your help to break the isolation our students feel in the online learning environment and to help ease the stress caused by the pandemic.

With your help, we aim to reach 2,000 students through our outreach efforts.  Our target group consists of second-year or third-year students who have failed at least one course during the Fall 2020 Semester.

How will this program work?

  • No training required
  • Each mentor will be assigned 10-15 students
  • They will send an initial outreach message (provided to the mentors) by MIO to students assigned to them
  • Mentors will answer questions from students and listen to their concerns
  • A list of all services and contact information will be provided
  • If students need additional information or have questions that the mentor is unable to answer, they can give a referral to someone in Student Services

If you are interested in participating in this initiative, you will first need to get your manager’s approval.  Once you have received approval, you can send an email to us before Thursday, February 11 to:

jstosik@dawsoncollege.qc.ca

We hope we can count on you!
