Share

Dawson’s Computer Science Technology program celebrated its 2026 graduating cohort, who had just completed their capstone projects, on April 13. This year’s project gave students two months to independently design, implement, and deploy an application using tools and technologies of their choice, offering a firsthand opportunity to reflect on the advantages and limitations of AI-assisted development in a large codebase.

Throughout the three years of the program, the engagement and hard work of several students stood out to teachers. In recognition, the Computer Science Department presented the following awards:

Perseverance: Habibullah Safari and Sungeun Kim
Dedication: Melania Chiru
Academic Excellence: Marc-Olivier Carrier-Favreau and Alessandro Chiby
Leadership: Talon Dunbar and Antoine Labbé

As a final step toward earning their DEC, students embarked on seven-week internships spanning web and mobile development, automation, and IT support, across industries ranging from digital marketing to radiation oncology.

A heartfelt congratulations to this year’s cohort!
