Professional Theatre presents Heavy Weather

September 29th, 2021

Heavy Weather by Lizzie Nunnery is about a young woman who faces the environmental crisis head-on as she embarks on a hero's journey in search of her mother, certainty and hope.

With an ensemble of protestors, onlookers, media, family and allies, Heavy Weather explores the complexity of protest, bias, agenda and manipulation, how to grapple with fear of the future, and self-discovery in how to own one’s power to change and inspire others.

With songs, brilliant humour, heart and truth, Heavy Weather is a timely play resonating with revolution and how, moment to moment, we can reinvent the future.

Playing next Wednesday-Saturday, Oct. 6 -9, at 8 p.m.

Tickets must be booked in advance: email lesau@dawsoncollege.qc.ca or call the Box Office at 514 931-5000.

365 Days: Theatre production opens April 28

April 20th, 2021

The Professional Theatre Department of Dawson College presents excerpts from 365 days / 365 plays by Suzan-Lori Parks. In 2002, Pulitzer-Prize-winning American playwright, Suzan-Lori Parks, decided to write a play every day for a year. Performed by the third-year students, 365 days is a rich journey.

The show opens Wednesday, April 28 and runs to May 1, as well as May 5-8. All shows begin at 8 p.m. Please note that this show has content warnings for: violence, violence against women of colour, graphic language, war, sexual themes, death and police brutality.

Professional Theatre presents Harper Reagan

March 9th, 2021

"If you go, I don't think you should come back."

On a startlingly bright autumn night in 2006, Harper Regan walked away from her home, her husband and daughter, and kept walking. She told nobody that she was going. She told nobody where she was going. She put everything she ever built at risk. For two lost days and nights, until it looked as though her entire life might unravel, she didn't turn back. From Uxbridge to Stockport to Manchester and back again, Harper Regan navigates the UK, exploring family, love and delusion.

Second-year students of the Professional Theatre Department perform in Harper Regan. The show will be livestreamed March 10 - 13 at 8 p.m.

Links will be posted on each day of the performance on the Facebook page entitled Dawson Theatre Productions, in the Read More link.
