Great year for the Dawson Foundation

Twenty projects to benefit students received funding in 2023 thanks to new funding available from the Dawson Foundation.

The new Student Academic Enrichment Fund (SAEF) received applications and provided funding for projects in the Winter and Fall 2023 semesters. Several projects would never have taken place without the new SAEF.

“Students, their teachers and the whole community were able to engage in new learning experiences with the potential to make a positive impact on individuals and on the environment,” said Dawson Foundation President Steve Hatajlo.

Another great achievement of 2023 was the return of Artists in Bloom, a well-loved spring event. The evening of art and mingling raised a total of $11,000 for Dawson’s Living Campus projects.

In June, the Dawson Golf Classic experienced a surge in interest among both players and sponsors raising over $52,000 for the Foundation.

Director General Diane Gauvin said that the Foundation and the College worked “hand in hand to achieve goals that will enrich the students’ learning experience during their time at Dawson.”
