To all our new students, welcome! To all our returning students, welcome back! Live your best Dawson life this semester:

• Take part in Campus Life activities
• Join a club
• Make time for your well-being (disconnect from digital devices, go for a walk or do some other form of exercise, get outside, do something you love, read, craft, meditate, etc.)
• Introduce yourself to a classmate you don’t know
• Use the services offered to students, such as the Learning Centre in 6D. 2 (upstairs in the Library)

Start strong by attending Welcome Day

New students: get ready for your first day at Dawson by attending your Welcome Day on Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on your program.

You will:

• Get important information about your program.

• Meet your Dean and fellow students.

• Discover the services available to you.

• Find your way around Dawson before classes begin.

• Enjoy a few surprises!

Welcome Day takes only a few hours. Find your program’s date and time on the Welcome Days webpage.

Please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.

A new Director General for Dawson

Dawson College is pleased to announce the appointment of Toby Harper-Merrett as its new Director General, effective August 10.

A graduate of Dawson’s Liberal Arts program (Class of 1996), Toby brings extensive leadership experience from the private and not-for-profit sectors, most recently serving as Lead Advisor, Regulatory and Corporate Affairs at Cogeco Inc.

Make friends, learn skills, get involved

Meet new people, learn new things, connect with Nature and make a difference at Dawson by joining the Sustainabili-Team!

Help take care of Dawson’s Living Campus. Your volunteer tasks could include watering, weeding, pruning, harvesting, loading/unloading the dishwasher, and delivering and picking up items for zero-waste events.

Sign up for a 1-hour time slot Monday through Friday before, between or after your classes.

Bonus: Full-time students who complete 60 hours or more of volunteering or participating in sports and meet the standard academic success requirements are eligible for the Recognition of Student Involvement notation on your official transcript. Dawson's Library will be open the week of Aug. 17 during these hours:

Monday through Thursday:

7:30 AM - 6 PM

Friday:

7:30 AM - 5 PM
