Dawson’s first ever Homecoming on Saturday, Sept. 23 is only three weeks away!
Here’s what you need to do:
- Get your early-bird lunch special: Those who pre-order their Homecoming Burgundy Lion lunch will benefit from a discount. Menu* and tickets** here
*for kids 10 and under, a children's meal will be available for purchase on site
**a small portion of each lunch ticket will go to the Dawson Foundation to support students
- Get your free drink at the 5 à 7: RSVP
- Invite your friends
- Invite colleagues, former students, graduates and retirees
- Share the Facebook event
This is a great opportunity to reconnect with the Dawson community - past, present and future (yes, children are most welcome)!

The Professional Theatre (Acting) Program will be staging three productions this fall:
- Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl, directed by Stefanie Buxton (First Studio, Year Two, Group One) Wednesday, Sept. 20 to Saturday, Sept. 23 at 7:30 PM
- Clue by Jonathan Lynn & Sandy Rustin, directed by Jonathan Monro (Second Studio, Year Two, Group Two) Wednesday, Oct. 4 to Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 PM
- Henry V by William Shakespeare, directed by Michael E Hughes (First Major) Previews at 7:30 pm Monday and Tuesday Nov. 13 and 14
- Opening at 7:30 PM Wednesday, Nov. 15
- Playing at 7:30 PM Nov. 15 to 18 and Nov. 23 - 25
- Matinées at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, Nov. 15, Friday, Nov. 17, and Thursday, Nov. 23

Ken Fogel presents new book to Library

Ken Fogel (retired faculty, Computer Science) returned to Dawson on May 25 to present a copy of his new book, Transitioning to Java. The book will help non-Java developers transition from whatever language they are using now to learning Java.
Claire Elliott of the Library team was on hand to receive the book. She said it will be proudly displayed in the Books by Faculty bookshelf (visible in the photo)
Moving toward 1,000 species on campus

In the past two weeks, the Dawson community has observed 10 new species, made 83 new observations and added one new observer to our Dawson Community-Campus Biodiversity Network on the free app iNaturalist.
These observations are moving us closer to our goal of identifying 1,000 species in 1,000 days!
As of May 31, the total species count is at 548. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the project. Download the free app iNaturalist, join the Dawson community project and start observing! To count, the species must be observed within Dawson’s city-block campus.

Dawson graduates, retirees and employees are invited to Dawson's first ever Homecoming! We are inviting our alumni back to reconnect with the Dawson community. Together, with our graduates, Dawson contributes to the strength of Quebec and our beloved and eclectically diverse City of Montreal! Now more than ever, we need to come together and show our Dawson values and pride.
Come and enjoy fun activities, walk down memory lane, go to program reunions and take in a Dawson Blues basketball game.
Dawson’s Homecoming will be on Saturday, Sept. 23. Plans are underway and we will be creating a webpage with all the updates.
