After graduation

“To get the right word in the right place is a rare achievement. To condense the diffused light of a page of thought into the luminous flash of a single sentence, is worthy to rank as a prize composition just by itself… Anybody can have ideas—the difficulty is to express them without squandering a quire of paper on an idea that ought to be reduced to one glittering paragraph.”
–Mark Twain

The Literature Profile prepares students for university studies in English literature, journalism, creative writing, drama, history, the humanities, or law, and for careers in teaching, writing, editing, publishing, and the arts.

During May orientation, graduating students in the profile share their experience of studying in the profile with incoming students.  At our various Open House events, recent alumni join the Literature Profile Coordinator to answer the questions of prospective students and their parents.  As well, graduates enjoy attending the annual Literature Profile Academic Conference. After the Integrating Activity students deliver their papers, they and others in their class have the opportunity to ask the recent graduates about the transition from CEGEP to university. Our graduates emphasize that the Literature Profile provides a strong foundation for university studies. Indeed, many return in the autumn to tell us how well-prepared they are for their undergraduate classes.
