Dawson’s first Cégep en spectacle packed the house
February 8th, 2023
Dawson's very first Cégep en spectacle talent show was a great success. On Feb. 2, the audience of 200 people enjoyed 22 acts, all 100% Dawson student talent. At the end of the night, judges Andréa Cole (Dean of Creative and Applied Arts), Jacinta Luis (Faculty, Music) and visiting guest judge Chad Lindsay, a jazz music teacher from Vanier College, chose Aliyah Sarimazi to be Dawson's entry in the regional contest on March 25 at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal. The audience chose Clara Nhiên Lévesque as the fan favourite and she will be the replacement entry should Aliyah not be able to compete in the regionals.
In addition to a fun evening, a total of $1,600 and three big grocery bags of nonperishable food were collected for Moisson Montréal.

These funds will be used by the Sustainability Office for learning activities and projects that contribute to well-being for all on our Living Campus. While getting their gifts wrapped, visitors and donors learned about Dawson’s Living Campus projects, including the gardens, the beehives, the Monarch Butterflies and more.
Discover 12 projects funded by Foundation
January 25th, 2023
A dozen projects proposed by Dawson students, faculty and staff have been approved for funding through the Dawson Foundation’s new Student Academic Enrichment Fund.
A website page showcases the projects and allows others to invest in a particular project through a donate button.
The Student Academic Enrichment Fund is supported by students each semester and is meant to be a source of funds for projects that demonstrate a clear benefit for Dawson students and represent an activity that goes over and above core competencies for completion of a program. The selection committee, including representatives from the Dawson Student Union, Academics and Student Services, meets twice a year to review and approve project proposals.
The next round of project applications will open later this semester and will be announced in D News and the Omnivox student news feed.

DTU Award goes to student with don’t-give-up message
November 30th, 2022
The Dawson Teachers’ Union Polytechnique Memorial Scholarship is given to a student who has shown a commitment to persevering and overcoming obstacles within their field.
This year, the award was given to Fred-Dgennie Louis, a student in Computer Science, who said: “It means a lot and I am very grateful. It was the least thing I expected since figuring out my path and where I wanted to go has been a struggle. You know after high school, you’re thrown into a completely new environment, and you’re just expected to go on, graduate and then go to university.”
