Call for Applications – CARE Research Funding
November 20th, 2025
The Office of Academic Development invites Dawson faculty and staff to apply for funding through the Collegial Applied Research Ecosystem (CARE). This funding is made possible through an external multi-year NSERC CCI Mobilize grant awarded to Dawson. It does not draw on the College’s operating budget and was established to build an ecosystem that connects and supports researchers, students, and partners to co-create applied research addressing real-world challenges, fostering innovation, and providing equitable training opportunities.
Two opportunities are currently open: the CARE Collaborative Impact Grant, which funds applied research projects with community, industry, or public-sector partners, and the CARE Internship Initiative, which supports student research internships under faculty supervision.
Learn more or express your interest by emailing care@dawsoncollege.qc.ca.

Latecomers welcome at Ped Day this Friday!
November 4th, 2025
Join us for the keynote session at this year’s Ped Day, From Spark to Circuit: Designing for Motivation, Meaning, and Hope in the Classroom, by Jessica Riddell at 9 AM in 5B.16 on Friday, Nov. 7.
Educators in the CEGEP system are uniquely positioned to reimagine what teaching and learning can become. This session draws on the Hope Circuits framework to explore how we can create classrooms that spark curiosity, deepen motivation, and foster a culture of student flourishing.
We will explore how to cultivate “hook questions”—provocative, generative inquiries that invite students to explore answers that are possible but not predetermined, and that connect with course competencies. These questions can serve as catalysts for both intellectual engagement and identity formation—helping students see themselves as co-creators of knowledge.
