IIDEX Neocon

Dawson Interior Design goes to IIDEX Neocon 2010

Nearly 50 students from Dawson Interior Design, accompanied by Department Chair Leigh Shapiro and professors Susanne Koltai and Adolphe Tinling, attented the 2010 Interior Design trade show in Toronto from September 24th – 26th.

IIDEX Neocon is organised each year by Interior Designers of Canada (IDC), and is the largest show of its kind in the country.  Activities organised for our students by IDC included a walking tour of the Allstream Building, a presentation ‘I Am Design‘ by four prominent Canadian Interior Designers, and the annual Student Design Charette competition, where a team of 5 Dawson students took the $500 2nd place prize for their creative sculptural design.  Click here to read the IDC press release about the competition.

Students also visited the Knoll Furniture and Haworth Furniture showrooms for guided tours organised by Susanne Koltai.  A short walking tour of some Toronto highlights such as the Art Gallery of Ontario and Ontario College of Art and Design was led by Leigh Shapiro.
