Saturday Jan 21st – Solidarity March – March on Washington

This Saturday join Women & Gender Studies in a Solidarity March that will support the Women’s March on Washington in the USA.  The March on Washington (sister march in Montreal) is taking place Saturday Jan.21, at 11AM at Place des Art (175 Saint Catherine W).  Look for the Dawson College Women’s/Gender Studies banner, featured above. If anyone has knitted or sewed some pussy hats, please bring them along.

The Women’s March is about resisting what has most recently in the American election. The rhetoric of the past election cycle has insulted, demonized, and threatened many of us – immigrants of all statuses, Muslims and those of diverse religious faiths, people who identify as LGBTQIA, Native people, Black and Brown people, people with disabilities, survivors of sexual assault – and our communities are hurting and scared. We are confronted with the question of how to move forward in the face of national and international concern and fear.
