Heat Set Insert Tool for 3D Scanned and 3D Printed Parts

This heat insert tool will enhance 3D printing and 3D scanning for students in the Mechanical Engineering program. The students will have additional tools to design and build even intricate and complex assemblies of 3D printed parts. The heat insert tool allows our students to install metal threaded inserts into their plastic printed parts. Metal hardware such as bolts and screws can then be used to create strong articulating joints. This is something that would otherwise be impossible with traditional methods.
