The overall aim of the Cinema/Video/Communications profile is to prepare students for university studies in media, journalism, cinema, animation, and the arts in general. The profile combines a rigorous media-centered education with a General Education component to prepare students to become responsible members of society who are aware of its cultural context. This profile provides students with a foundation in film and communication studies, ranging from the history of film, art and music to scriptwriting and production.
Program and Profile Requirements
Students in this profile must take six profile-required courses.
Students must also take four profile recommended courses, either courses recommended by Cinema/Video/Communications profile or courses offered by another profile. Courses with an asterisk* (on the course list page) are recommended for students who wish to take the maximum number of courses in their chosen discipline. Alternatively, students can choose to take other courses listed in the same section.
Students must choose a program-option course each term.
Each term students must also take a selection of General Education (CORE) courses in English, Humanities, French and Physical Education as well as two complementary courses in disciplines outside of their program.
