Invitation from the Miriam on Campus Program

An invitation from Melicha of Miriam on Campus Program:

“We are the Miriam on Campus Program. Many of you already know our group since we are implicated at Dawson for numerous years. I would like to take the opportunity to introduce ourselves. Our program’s purpose is to promote the development of work, social and interpersonal skills in an integrated work environment for people with special needs. We are currently attending Dawson College 5 days a week from 09:00 am to 15:00 pm. Our office is located in the 5B. 16 area (the old coat check room). We are currently 4 participants, including me the special care counsellor who is supporting the group to coach and teach the necessary skills to develop their autonomy. The group will be expanding to 7 participants for next semester.

This email is to invite you to get in touch with me when needs arise in the college and you believe we could be of assistance. Please if you are not sure don’t hesitate to contact me and we will look at it together. My group can help you with all kinds of tasks: small amounts of paper shredding, putting up and taking down posters, flattening boxes, and/or assembling the boxes, they help in the kitchen cafeteria (wrapping food for example), laundry, reception at PARC, helping out with a variety of gardening tasks, bringing items to shipping, mailing, packaging, cutting old folders, collecting recycling, assembling packages and much more.

Hope we will be able to assist you with your needs, increase our inclusion and integration in the Dawson community. Our wish is to have the possibility of completing more task opportunities for the group!

Thank You and have a nice day!”
