A Safe Environment for all
Cleaning and disinfecting for everyone’s safety:
- Cleaning and disinfecting are key in the College’s plan to prevent the spread of COVID-19
- The cleaning and disinfecting schedule has been upgraded since the pandemic was declared
- Busy washrooms are cleaned 3x/day and other bathrooms 2x/day
- High-touch surfaces (e.g. door handles, faucets, handrails, etc) are disinfected regularly according to a schedule
- Students and employees are expected to use cleaning supplies provided by the College to clean their study/work area when leaving
Ensuring air quality for everyone:
- Dawson’s Facilities Management team is dedicated to ensuring air quality
- Air quality is monitored on an on-going basis
- Dawson College is following all the Public Health directives about maintaining air quality
- Dawson is also following the standards of ASHRAE, the recognized authority on air quality
College providing masks, products and equipment
- You will be asked to swap out your mask for a new procedural mask provided by the College.
- Personal protective equipment (procedure mask, visor and gloves) will be provided to all
employees who must use it for their work at the College. - Cleaning products will be provided in each office area and for classrooms and other facilities in use.
Changes in use of campus facilities
- Students are placed 1.5 meters apart from other students in classrooms
- Teachers are 2 meters from students
- Spots have been placed on floors at entrances to keep the distance
- Maximum capacities for rooms in use have been recalculated
- The cafeteria in the Upper Atrium has been set up for maintaining a minimum 2 meter distance
- Changes have been made to some workspaces to make them compliant with Public Health directives.
- Isolation rooms have been equipped for anyone who develops symptoms while on campus and are not well enough to go home right away or are waiting for transportation.
- Elevators have a maximum capacity. Those who do not need an elevator are requested to take the escalators or stairs instead.
- Food services are not being offered on campus. Only those who need to eat on campus because of course or work schedule should do so.
