EWEEK 2018

November 12th - 15th, 2018

Dawson will once again be the Montreal host for Entrepreneurship Week, coinciding with Global Entrepreneurship Week (Nov. 12-15, 2018). This week is all about creativity, innovation, resources and networking, the early stages of starting a new enterprise whether a social project or in business. Students and faculty will be inspired by hearing people who have been through it all, speak about their experiences. We are also setting up recruiting tables for startups looking for new talents from Dawson. This will give students in Marketing, Design and Computer Science an opportunity to find a job in a startup.

The week will include:

  • Information kiosks
  • Guest speakers and panel discussions with patent agents, wild and crazy entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, social entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, educators.

Workshops

  • Montreal NewTech night – a networking evening in which five companies pitch their products or service in 5 minutes with a 5 minute Q&A.
  • Startup job recruiting and more.

The eweek calendar is ready! Come join us in November and support this great Dawson event! All events are free!

Project Update

Entrepreneurship Week brought in over 35 speakers during the 4 day event. It was filled with panelists, keynote speakers and networking events including Speed Date and Entrepreneur and Dawson's Den event where Dawson students pitched their business ideas to 4 judges vying for cash prizes.

The project allowed students to engage with various speakers so they were able to learn communication skills via the ways in which the speakers spoke on stage in addition to learning how to make a pitch discussion that took place with CEDEC. Many of the speakers spoke of how they solve various problems that come up in the entrepreneurship world.
