Trip to Boston – S.P.A.C.E

May 30th, 2015 - June 2nd, 2017

The Boston/Cambridge Trip was the concluding event to a set of extra- and intra-curricular activities involving more than 70 students that have taken place this year with S.P.A.C.E. and in the Science Program. The student projects were organized around the “Trans—” theme, which in the case of this group was “Translating Science”, many of which were presented at the inaugural Science Fest conference in May. In Boston and Cambridge, students and faculty visited Harvard and MIT affiliated museums including the MIT museum and Harvard’s Museum of Natural History. We also had a private tour and presentation of research at the Laboratory for Multiscale Regenerative Technologies in MIT’s Koch Institute. Future collaborations with our MIT contact, Alex Albanese are being explored. The trip began and ended at Le Laboratoire Cambridge. Initially we visited the current exhibition on Memory and were introduced to a separate exhibition of youth projects that are analogous to independent research projects being developed with Dawson students in SPACE.
