In conversation with guest speaker Sakura Saunders, students in “Environmental Issues” learned about the social and environmental impacts of Canada’s gold mining industry and community-based resistance in Canada and abroad. Saunders is a leading environmental justice and Indigenous solidarity activist and a co-founder of the Mining Injustice Solidarity Network.
