Xavier Maclaren
For my whole life, I have been passionate about camping. Learning wilderness survival skills was a core part of my youth, when I first started canoe camping with my mother, father and two younger brothers. Receiving this award is galvanizing to me, pushing me to pursue my dream of studying the biology of trees, which was born from my camping experiences.

Presented to a student who, during their Outdoor Education course, has demonstrated either exemplary leadership, a sense of adventure, teamwork, environmental awareness, the ability to overcome adversity, or the initiative to support others in challenging situations. This award is granted in honour of Tony Proudfoot, who made significant contributions to the Dawson College Physical Education Department.
